Playa de las Americas is located in the southwestern corner of Tenerife. It is the largest resort town on Tenerife, and the neighbouring towns of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje are also very popular. Both are within walking distance of Playa de las Americas.
The airport Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur is only 17 km away, so getting to the hotel is quick and easy.
Beaches in Playa de las Americas
The main beach in Playa de las Americas is Playa de Troya, which is also the best-known beach in Tenerife.
There is no lava sand here, but fine-grained, golden sand. There are large areas with sun lounges and sunshades, but also room for people, who just wish to lie on the sand. The clear water is partially protected in the artificial bay, and high waves are very rare.
The beach Playa del Camisón is located in the southern part of Playa de las Americas. A wonderful sand beach surrounded by palm trees and with all the necessary facilities.
Child friendliness
Both Playa de Troya and Playa del Camisón have fine-grained sand and shallow water. This makes both beaches very child-friendly.
Water sports
There are many water sports activities at Playa de Troya, including a banana boat. A bit south of Playa de Troya, you’ll find the beach Playa Honda, which is popular among surfers.
Beach restaurants
Behind the beach, there is a wide sea front with many restaurants along Playa de Troya. At Playa del Camisón, it is more quiet.
The resort Playa de las Americas
Playa de las Americas is the largest and most famous holiday resort on Tenerife. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafés in the town, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed during the day. It is different when darkness sets in, when the town’s many bars and discos enable you to party until the early hours of the morning.
However, most hotels in Playa de las Americas are fairly undisturbed by the lively nightlife, especially the large family hotels, which are located a little away from the centre. This also applies to the popular 4-star H10 Conquistador, which has a large pool area and many facilities for the whole family.
Playa de Las Americas also offers many different water excursions, including whale/dolphin watching trips, sailing on a pirate ship or an exciting trip in a yellow submarine.

Playa de Troya can be seen in the top left corner of the map. A little further south is Playa Honda, which is called Playa de las Américas on the map. At the southernmost point is the beautiful beach of Playa del Camisón. In the middle is the large golf course that surrounds the 4-star Gara Suites Golf & Spa hotel.
