Las Galletas
Las Galletas is situated on the southern point of the Spanish volcanic island of Tenerife, approx. 8 kilometres from the holiday resort, Los Cristianos.
The beaches in Las Galletas
Las Galletas has two beaches. The largest of the two beaches is situated right west of the town, where it is well protected by the harbour. This beach has lava sand with a few pebbles.
The other beach is a relatively narrow stripe of coarse lava sand and pebbles, which has a good location in front of the charming sea front.
The large beach has toilets, whereas there are showers at both beaches. It is relatively easy to find a parking space close to the beaches.
Child friendliness
None of the beaches are particularly child-friendly as there are many rocks and pebbles along the waterline. At the big beach, however, there is room to play in the dark lava sand.
Water sports
Las Galletas is a good starting point for divers, which the many diving centres in the town also indicate. Apart from that, there are no water sports activities.
Beach restaurants
Along the sea front, there are several restaurants with a good view of the ocean. At the large beach, there is also a restaurant and a beach bar.
The town of Las Galletas
Las Galletas has been a fishing village since the beginning of time and takes great pride in keeping it that way.
Therefore, there is also a fish market every day where the fresh hauls are sold. Of course, there are also several really good sea food restaurants in the town.
There are no large hotels in the town, but there are some in the neighbouring town to the east, Costa del Silencio. Here you’ll e.g. find the large holiday complex, Ten Bel.
